    This job iswithin the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for qualifying American Airlines Credit Union members to determine the proper loan program, complete loan applications and keep members informed of the loan status.

    What you'll do

    • Assistmembers in completing online mortgage applications using Mortgage Cadence LOS, providing members with all required disclosures and obtaining necessary support documents
    • Negotiateterms and conditions of loans with members in accordance with Credit Union Policy and Procedures
    • Setup loans;gatherand reviewqualifying documents
    • Placeapplicable orders for mortgage-related services and process loans
    • Performincome analysis of loan documentation, to include complex tax returns such as those for corporations, partnerships, and sub-S corporations
    • Underwriteloans using automated underwriting programs and credit union decision matrices and referred loans not approved by the automated underwriting program to Credit Union underwriters
    • Serveas the primary contact for all parties involved on each loan from application to close, utilizing clear and effective communications skills
    • Provideexcellent member service to Credit Union members and employees
    • Maintainreferral relationships with realtors, builders, internal partners and members in association with the Credit Union member base
    • Maintaineffective communication with all Credit Union departments to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing Credit Union goals
    • Workcollaboratively with teamin analyzing and solving situations that may arise in the mortgage application and loan process
    • Stayinformed of trends and developments in the local real estate market
    • Recommendproduct and pricing changes to ensure Credit Union is competitive within the industry
    • Remainup to date on state regulations governing Credit Union lending, with particular emphasis on rules and regulations governing real property lending on first mortgage loans and secondary emphasis on home equity loans
    • Strivefor continuous improvement of processes and quality of service in support of Credit Union goals
    • Performother duties as assigned
    • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuringthe security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • High school diploma or GED

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of recent mortgage loan origination and processing experience on conventional, FHA, and/or VA products or in the financial services industry
    • Minimum of3 years experience in a customer service related industry

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
    • Ability to utilize Mortgage Cadence lending system software (LOS) and ability to learn new software applications
    • Knowledge of all loan programs offered by the Credit Union, including forms and documentation for each type of loan, and the ability to apply that knowledge successfully in the job
    • Knowledge of how other Credit Union departments are interrelated with the Mortgage Department and the ability to apply that knowledge effectively in performance of the job
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team
    • Ability to display strong math proficiency, with a high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to interact professionally with all employees and members
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving
    • Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
    • Ability to adjust work schedule and work additional hours as needed to support business needs
    • Ability to travel
    • Ability to sitfor extended periods of time
    • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
    • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance check
