    Torah Prep -

    Looking for Director of Student Support Services to Lead our Special Education Department and

    1. Communication - communicate with teachers, student support staff and parents in a productive and collaborative manner to support student learning
    2. Interventions - develop, support teachers in administering, or directly implement interventions for students as needed
    3. Supervision - supervise student support staff, ensuring administration of support, and conduct intra and inter-department meetings as necessary
    4. Case-management - attend eligibility and IEP meetings, assist school staff in understanding the impact of students' educational disabilities and/or academic and social-emotional weaknesses, develop a school-based plan of support and consistently monitor it, meet with the team (to include at least the student's teacher and parents) at least annually to review growth and goals
    5. Tiered support system - participate in the development of tiered support system for academic and social-emotional support services, working closely with the school administration
    6. Data Teams - supervise benchmarking data collection, lead data team meetings, review all benchmarking data with teachers and relevant staff
    7. Parent Resources - maintain a bank of resources to share with parents when students require outside support and assist in supporting parents navigating said resources
    8. Social-emotional - Work together with the mental health professional (to be hired) in supporting social emotional needs of students
    9. The Director of Students Support will report to menaheles, menahel, and general studies principal

    Skill/Experience Requirements:

    1. To do this job effectively, candidate will need strong communication and empathy skills
    2. Extensive experience in the field of Education and/ or Special Education is a must - minimum of 8 years, 10+ years is preferred
    3. Understanding of and experience with best-practice instructional methods (reading, math, executive functioning, social skills, etc.) and the creation and implementation of modifications and accommodations
