    The Mission of the Ohio Department of Commerce

    is promoting prosperity by protecting what matters most.

    The Division of Administration provides overall leadership and administrative support for all Divisions. The Division includes the Office of Director, Communications, Fiscal, Human Resources, IT, Legal and Legislative Affairs.

    Commerce is comprised of eight operating divisions and one standalone program that span a variety of industries including real estate, liquor, banking, securities, firefighting, construction and skilled trades, and medical marijuana. Through exceptional compliance practices and oversight, Commerce has a direct role in protecting Ohioans.

    Commerce is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that may incorporate both teleworking and in-person office hours. Employees must be able to report to the office when requested by management &/or for their initial job training.

    What You'll Do:

    Open and scan incoming checks.

    Post customer payments to appropriate database.

    Prepare deposits for bank.

    Work with internal customers to help troubleshoot any payment inquiries.

    Answer customer phone calls.

    Ohio Public Employees Retirement System

    Deferred Compensation

    Qualifications
    18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include a basic level of experience in spreadsheet software.

    -Or completion of high school technical program in accounting; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting or finance to include a basic level of experience in spreadsheet software.

    -Or completion of associate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.

    -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
