    As a Cardiovascular Cath Lab Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to the patient and provides assistance to the Cardiologist during all phases of cardiac catheterization. You will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties that relate to the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will work primarily with adult and geriatric patient populations.

    You will be responsible for:

    Effectively performs circulator, scrub and recorder duties during procedures.

    Calibrates equipment as needed.

    Performs and documents a nursing assessment to identify and prioritize patient's needs, with development of a plan of care. Evaluates, reassesses and documents nursing interventions, based on interdisciplinary plan of care making revisions as appropriate.

    Accurately and consistently follows established guidelines for Moderate Sedation, practices Universal Precautions and follows all infection control policies.

    Demonstrates accountability for administration, observation, charting and reporting side effects of drugs, intravenous procedures and other diagnostic and therapeutic measures.

    Observes closely and communicates immediately information (arrhythmias, change in pressures, pain or mental state) to catheterizing physician before, during and after a procedure.

    Accurately maintains department records and patient logs, and enters patient charges for procedures.

    Responsible for assisting in the orientation and preceptorship of students and new staff to the role of an RN within the unit.

    What you will need:
    • Graduate of a Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor degree program from a School of Nursing.
    • Minimum of two (2) years Cath Lab, ICU, or Critical Care (i.e. ED, IMCU, complex tele) experience.
    • Current RN license to practice in the State of Georgia.
    • Must have the American Heart Association ACLS Certification and complete IV Conscious Sedation competencies. ICU or Critical Care skills preferred.
