    Hospital in Small Virginia Town Needs Help CT Technologist Travel Job

    Schedule: 7p - 7a
    Duration of assignment: 13 weeks

    This is a36 Bed Acute Care Hospital that needs help in the radiology department

    Requirements:
    In addition to having an ARRT and State of Virginia Radiology License,
    the hiring manager for this particular CT tech travel position seeks a blend of technical skills and interpersonal qualities in the applicants.

    Technical Skills:

    • CT Scan Operation:This is the core competency. The ability to operate the CT scanner safely and efficiently is crucial.
    • Patient Positioning:Knowing how to correctly position patients for various scans ensures image quality and patient comfort.
    • Anatomy:A basic understanding of human anatomy allows CT techs to better understand which areas are being scanned and potential challenges.
    • Radiation Safety:Following strict protocols to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and themselves is essential.
    • Computer Skills:Familiarity with CT scan software and picture archiving systems is important for image processing and documentation.

    Intangible Skills:

    • Attention to Detail:Producing clear and accurate images requires meticulous attention to detail during positioning and scan operation.
    • Communication:Clear communication with patients to explain procedures and answer questions helps ease anxiety.
    • Compassion:Understanding patients' concerns and providing a calming presence during potentially stressful procedures is key.
    • Teamwork:Collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals is essential for smooth operation.
    • Problem-Solving:Being able to troubleshoot minor technical issues and adapt to unexpected situations is valuable.
