Job Summary
** Hybrid Position **
The Academic Programs Manager reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate Division and is responsible for managing policies and requirements for academic programs in the Graduate Division. The Academic Programs Manager provides expertise and guidance to students, staff, and faculty related to policies and processes on graduate student progression including petitions, tracking and recording milestones and working with program administrators to ensure students maintain satisfactory academic process. They are also responsible for managing, monitoring, and advising on academic progression issues, all in accordance with academic senate policy.
The Academic Programs Manager manages the Graduate Division application process including serving as the system steward for Slate, the graduate admissions system, verifying admissions credentials and generating all annual admissions reporting, and responding to and/or triaging application inquiries. The Academic Programs Manager works with graduate program administrators and the Registrar to ensure proper data recording and plays a critical role in annual maintenance and reporting. Additionally, the Academic Programs Manager manages the internal fellowship process for multiple awards and oversees the course evaluation system and the APM430 approval process for visiting undergraduate and graduate scholars.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

The Graduate Division functions as the institutional home for graduate education and postdoctoral training at UCSF, offering 20 PhD programs in basic, translational, and social/population sciences; 12 master's degree programs; and two professional doctorates serving more than 1,000 students and 1,100 postdoctoral scholars. The Graduate Division serves as the primary advocate for graduate students and postdocs and promotes excellence in all graduate and postdoc training programs.
