    Carelon Strategy Senior Director (Business Strat Plan Dir)

    Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

    The Team: The Carelon Strategy & Innovation Team supports Carelon's leadership in developing the strategic direction for Carelon and associated businesses. The team:

    • Leads development of specific strategies for Carelon
    • Evaluates potential inorganic growth opportunities
    • Facilitates discovery and execution of external partnerships and investments
    • Prepares strategy, planning, and performance documents for the Elevance Health Senior Leadership Team and Board
    • Leads the Carelon annual planning process
    • Performs Chief of Staff functions for the President of Carelon

    The team performs additional important roles as requested by Carelon's President and leadership team.

    The Carelon Strategy Senior Director (Business Strat Plan Dir) is responsible for managing and driving the performance of a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including high-value, complex projects. Accountable for initiative planning and ongoing internal client management. Will excel at executive-level communication and relationship building.

    How you will make an impact:

    • Manages portfolio of strategic initiatives and projects shaping direction of Carelon and Carelon business units, leading teams as required.
    • Leads project teams to isolate business issues, design and execute analytics, develop technical content, and develop formal recommendations to senior leadership.
    • Prepares or oversees the preparation of, delivers succinct, insightful and influential executive-level presentations and communications.
    • Leads strategic collaboration across the company related to new partnerships, business investments or opportunities.
    • Leads evaluation of potential M&A and partnership opportunities, in collaboration with Carelon and Finance leadership teams.
    • Performs Chief of Staff functions, e.g., leads development of select Board materials, drives Carelon participation in enterprise processes such as Annual Planning.
    • Creates trusted relationships with executives across the organization; cultivates relationships with commercial and government business leaders to understand needs.
    • Leads and mentors other associates; provides guidance and coaching to more junior colleagues.
    • Serves a subject matter expert on specific areas of the business.
    • Communicates Carelon strategy and strategic priorities to Carelon, Elevance Health, and external audiences (e.g., through generation and presentation of materials).
    • Performs other critical functions as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including prior leadership experience and 3 to 5 year strategic planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

    • Master's Degree preferred.
    • years of experience in management consulting or large-scale project management strongly preferred.
    • Relevant healthcare experience strongly preferred.
    • Extremely motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment and is excited to influence Carelon to positively impact member lives preferred.
    • Written, oral and presentation skills necessary to successfully influence senior executives preferred.
    • Excellent computer skills, demonstrated fluency with all key packages preferred.
    • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.

    For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $132,400 to $238,320.
