    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at an Elementary Charter School in Everett, MA, for the ew school year. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs. This position offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive environment, collaborating with a team of professionals and utilizing resources such as paraprofessionals and teacher assistants to enhance student success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, with a focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate to severe needs.
    • Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet their individual learning goals and needs.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' inclusion in the general education classroom, providing necessary accommodations and modifications.
    • Utilize effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other members of the educational team to ensure students' progress and address their specific needs.
    • Work closely with paraprofessionals and teacher assistants to provide additional support and facilitate student learning.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, IEP goals, and related documentation.
    • Stay informed about best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.

    Requirements:

    • Valid Massachusetts licensure in Elementary Special Education.
    • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate to severe needs is highly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of special education principles, strategies, and instructional methods.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
    • Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
    • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and the ability to promote an inclusive learning environment.
    • Compassion, patience, and dedication to supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth.
    • Eligibility for direct hire through the district.
