- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, with a focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate to severe needs.
- Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet their individual learning goals and needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' inclusion in the general education classroom, providing necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other members of the educational team to ensure students' progress and address their specific needs.
- Work closely with paraprofessionals and teacher assistants to provide additional support and facilitate student learning.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, IEP goals, and related documentation.
- Stay informed about best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Valid Massachusetts licensure in Elementary Special Education.
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate to severe needs is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education principles, strategies, and instructional methods.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
