JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Professor Philip Bevilacqua in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill a postdoctoral research position focused on identifying genomic riboswitches via high throughput approaches.

Techniques will involve probing RNA in vivo and genome-wide, with the development of new probes.

The ideal postdoctoral candidate will have extensive experience the following fields: RNA preparation and manipulation, high-throughput genomic approaches, organic synthesis, and programming and bioinformatics.

The applicant must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.
D. in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts.

The individual should be highly self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts.
