    Role Description

    We are currently seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to work in nursing homes or conduct home visits for blood draws. Your duties will include providing excellent customer service, proficient specimen collection, and professionally representing the company. You will also have various opportunities for continuous growth and advancement within the organization. This position requires frequent travel around the New York/Tri-state area.

    This position is part-time starting at 3am or 3pm-11pm.

    Primary Duties

    • Nursing home experience is a plus***
    • Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood specimens from patients.
    • Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen collection and processing.
    • Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
    • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and provide exceptional patient service.
    • Assist with other laboratory tasks as needed.
    • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
    • Travel to additional sites when needed.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a phlebotomy technician or in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
    • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures related to specimen collection and processing.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and physiology.
    • Proficient in performing vital signs measurements.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Skills

    • Clinical laboratory experience.
    • Patient service skills.
    • Knowledge of laboratory procedures.
    • Ability to phlebotomize patients efficiently and accurately.
    • Understanding of physiology and medical terminology.
    • Proficiency in laboratory techniques for specimen collection and processing.
    • Competence in measuring vital signs accurately.
    • Familiarity with aseptic technique for maintaining sterile conditions during procedures.

    Education/Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred.
    • Previous experience as a phlebotomist.
    • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
    • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
    • Reliable transportation and clean driving record, if applicable.
    • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
