    The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Psychologist 4at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) in Monroe, just outside the Seattle-metro area in Washington.

    This is a day shift position that will require work to be completed onsite at the facility.


    The Psychologist 4 directly supervises a group of dynamic mental health professionals in providing ethical and humane services to individuals assigned to MCC.

    The incumbent ensures those services are rooted in current, evidence-based practices provided by qualified professionals based on individualized treatment plans.

    This leadership role establishes and maintains the standards for mental health services set forth by the Department of Corrections (DOC) so as to carry out its mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives by influencing front line staff in promoting mental health stability and increased functioning for mentally ill patients.

    Duties

    The licensed Psychologist 4 provides mental health services in a residential level of care setting for patients that meet this level of care per WA DOC Health plan for incarcerated individuals.

    The Psychologist 4 will be providing and supervising mental health assessments, evaluations, and 1:1 and group treatment for mentally ill patients for:

    crisis intervention and stabilization, acute care, and mental health treatment as outlined in the patient's mental health treatment plan.

    The Psychologist 4 also directs, coordinates, and provides expert level supervision for staff in the delivery of Mental Health Services.


    These duties include:

    developing, implementing, and monitoring performance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure cross unit standardization and quality control for Psychological services provided.

    This supervision includes administrative, clinical, and unit therapeutic programing of a Residential Treatment Unit (RTU).

    Provide clinical supervision for Psychologist 3, Psychology Associate, Corrections Mental Health Counselor staff and interns per DOC policies and DOH RCW's.

    Participate in interdisciplinary treatment conferences, patient prognosis and screening and transfer/placement meetings.
    Direct supervision of mental health staff, individual and group supervision and consultation meetings.
    Provide supervision with crisis assessments and counseling, suicide assessments and management, diagnostics and testing.

    Assist staff with appropriate referrals and diagnostic clarification as needed, as well as helping to determine when patients should be referred out an a RTU or to a less restrictive setting.

    Serve as a consultant to the Health Services Manager, Chief Psychologist, Clinical Director, and Superintendent.
    Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner per DOC policy and protocol.
    Qualifications


    Required Q ualifications:

    Doctoral Degree in Clinical Counseling or Psychology from an accredited school or department of Psychology whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S.

    Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
    Possession of a current license to practice psychology in the state of Washington.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Three years of Postdoctoral Psychology experience.
    One year of experience as a supervisor.
    Any advanced practice board certifications.
    Experience working in a Corrections facility.
