    Description


    Emergency Planner at Battelle Energy Alliance dba Idaho National Labora in Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States Job Description Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Emergency Planner to work in our Environment Safety, Health & Quality department.

    Our team works a 980 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off. You will report to the Emergency Management Group Manager.

    Here you will perform technically complex emergency management responsibilities as an Emergency Management planner and develop emergency management strategic initiatives for emergency response program as requested by management.


    Responsibilities Include:

    Perform technical writing/editing tasks for the EM program utilizing a full understanding and application of grammar and usage principles.

    Research, write, and edit documents, procedures, drill packages, and other Emergency Management documentation with INL writing and editing standards and procedures.

    Provide input for main programmatic milestones to ensure compliance. Conduct emergency management and emergency response organization training, drills, and exercises at the facility. Ensure area warden coordinators for the facility are in place and trained.

    Ensure INL Emergency Management program elements and associated products are maintained with federal regulations, Department of Energy orders, and company procedures.

    Coordinate emergency preparedness, planning and response elements with other organization functions. Advise managers on technical emergency planning, preparedness, and response issues.

    Using both written and verbal skills, acts as a spokesperson for emergency management and communicates technical issues and matters to all levels of internal customers and leadership.

    Maintain positive working relationships. Act as the interface for emergency with facility management. Conduct and report on self-assessment of the EM program and the facility. Participate in management and independent assessments. Provide feedback for continuous improvement using established company lessons learned and issue management programs.

    Qualify as an EM Planner and maintain all associated trainings as well as serve on a designated team for the INL Emergency Response Organization.


    Minimum Requirements:

    Baccalaureate and - 8 years of experience, or an advanced degree and - 6 years experience, or 13 years relevant experience.

    This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'Q' clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
