    Department Overview


    The Division of Reproductive Psychiatry and Behavioral Health was established in 2013 under the prior name The Division of Women's Mental Health and Wellness.

    It currently consists of 5 multidisciplinary faculty members (MD, PhD, LPC) providing high quality women's mental health care in outpatient and consultative settings.

    This division is a tertiary referral source for specialty Reproductive Psychiatric services throughout Oregon and SW Washington.

    Current specialty clinical areas of focus include but are not limited to Perinatal and Postpartum Psychiatric conditions, Infertility Consultation Services, Perinatal Loss, Female Sexual Dysfunction, Perimenstrual and Perimenopausal Mood Disorders, Coordinated Care in Primary Care; and biopsychosocial treatment of gynecologic cancer, urogynecology conditions, family planning, and other subspecialty care.


    Division faculty provide education in these areas of Reproductive Psychiatry and Behavioral Health to hundreds of trainees and faculty regionally and nationally.

    They are highly engaged in residency training in several academic programs at Oregon Health Science University and hold leadership positions in national organizations.

    Function/Duties of Position


    The Division Head will be responsible for overseeing the clinical, research, teaching and advocacy missions within the Division of Reproductive Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.

    In particular, the creation and development of programs to incorporate and strengthen the biopsychosocial model of women's health within all the programs of the Department as a key role.

    The Division Head will analyze the success of these programs and refine the offerings as needed as well as provide oversight of other reproductive psychiatry and behavioral health professionals in the Department to achieve the identified goals of the program.

    The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the Department Chair in furtherance of the University's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.


    As a member of the faculty, the Division Head will provide clinical care to OHSU patients and affiliated hospitals and clinics; establish and maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of mental health conditions and treatments; teach medical students, house staff and the regional medical community; engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups as approved by the Department Chair; and participate in the administration of the School of Medicine if appointed.


    Specific duties:
    Provide effective leadership to the Division and its faculty in accordance with OHSU and Department policies and procedures.

    As a member of the Department of Ob/Gyn leadership team, the Division Head will also provide input into the vision and direction of the Department.

    Create, in concert with administrative and faculty leadership, long and short-range strategic planning for the Division and the Department.

    As the Division's leader, this faculty member will manage and direct the Division's operating budget in a manner consistent with Department and University goals.

    The Division Head is expected to participate as assigned in Department and institutional administrative committees. Serve as a mentor and leader in research for the Division.

    Responsibility for outpatient services, to include faculty staffing assignments and the continued development and success of a faculty-based Reproductive Psychiatry and Behavioral Health practice.

    Responsibility for the further development of the preclinical, clinical, postgraduate (CME and Resident) and allied health educational programs.

    Required Qualifications


    • MD/DO with board certification in Psychiatry.
    • Licensed and located in Oregon.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Greater than 2 years' prior leadership experience in an academic setting.
    • Greater than 7 years' experience in the field of Reproductive Psychiatry.
    • Evidence of high quality and consistent effort in the education of medical students and residents.
