- Provide leadership and direction in defining and implementing QA to support the Laboratory's efforts to deliver its mission and projects safely, effectively, and efficiently, and achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and maintain all elements of the Institutional QA Program to ensure they are compliant with SLAC contract requirements.
- Provide oversight, advice, and counsel to SLAC management and staff on all QA related matters.
- Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, personnel development for direct reports and accountable for the performance of employees.
- Provide technical and strategic management for QA practitioners across the laboratory through both direct employees and matrixed employees.
- Direct supervision of QA practitioners assigned to major scientific projects
- Matrix management/coaching of QA practitioners elsewhere within Lab Directorates
- Other assignments/coaching/consulting as required
- Develop and implement applicable QA training programs
- Ensure appropriate integration of QA into the implementation and management of SLAC's Conduct of Research, Conduct of Engineering and Conduct of Project Management.
- Oversee the Suspect/Counterfeit Items (S/CI) Program
- Bachelor's Degree in quality, engineering, business management, or comparable fields
- Minimum of 8 years of experiencein quality assurance or related fields
- Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
- Excellent understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent change management skills
- Ability to provide leadership and influence others
- Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Good knowledge of MS Office and other software tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Experience with DOE Quality Assurance and DOE Order 414.1D
- Experience in management systems certifications (e.g., ISO 9000, 14000, 18000, etc.)

The expected pay range for this position is $189,000 - $241,000 per annum.
