    Charter Steel is hiring a Supply Chain Inventory Intern

    Internship Program Structure:
    • Duration/Schedule: full-time during the summer months
    • Hybrid flexibility: 1-2 days a week in the office
    • Start Date: May 2024
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • ERP experience.
    • Purchasing experience.
    • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S tools.
    What you'll do:
    • Work with all areas of the business to improve and maintain inventory health.
    • Identify and disposition older inventory through established processes.
    • Participate in coil yard audits.
    • Perform daily tasks to convert stock, reapply items, downgrade and scrap inventory.
    • Assist in problem solving efforts to improve performance.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
    • Perform daily processes related to position.
    • Assist in projects and function as a resource for other team members.
    • Analyze data and report.
    • Document and improve processes.
