o Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
Create subcontractor bidders list for the solicitation process with SmartBid or other solicitation programs as may be utilized.
Review subcontractor and supplier bids for conformity to plans and specifications.
Research construction documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs.
Work with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project.
Read and study bid package documents to ensure compliance and ensure that all bids are prepared consistently with those documents (instructions to bidders, plans, specifications, etc.).
Manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at once.Review design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, generates acceptable value engineering ideas, and prepares life-cycle costing.
Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required.Participate in turnover meetings from preconstruction department to operations department.
Assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Four (4) year postsecondary degree in a related field (building science, construction management, civil engineering, etc.) Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree/certification.
computer skills; ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the project, both written and oral.Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, iSqFt, SmartBid, On-Screen Takeoff
General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
Hearing and speaking ability sufficient to carry on a conversation with another individual (or groups of individuals) in person and over the telephone.
