Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Methodist Hospital | Texsan to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Functions:

• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.

• Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community/patient events and in-services.
• Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System. Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
• Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
• Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

About the Unit:

• 30 bed medical/surgical ICU specializing in cardiovascular surgical care
• Patient to Nurse ratio 2:1
• Nationally recognized Beacon Award winning unit for Nursing Excellence

• Experienced charge nurses and unit leadership
• This specialized ICU offers the opportunity and educational resources to become certified in Critical Care plus youll earn a bonus each year you maintain the certification

What is required:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Minimum of 1 year working as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
• 3 years of RN experience in an ICU setting preferred
• Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse required. If Compact RN license, must have TX RN license within 90 days of hire.
