    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in computer science and a minimum of seven years of directly related job experience. Must have extensive industry experience implementing and maintaining Exchange Messaging Systems. Must have a background that includes Linux, Windows, and basic network components including TCP/IP, DNS, and Firewalls. Must have excellent analytical skills.

    As a team lead, must be able to develop and manage plans for multiple high-profile projects as well as meet production support responsibilities.

    Must have the ability to resolve highly technical systems issues associated with systems performance and security.

    In lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience in the area of systems engineering may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

    INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants' knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.

    SUMMARY


    Serves as the leader, technical expert, and systems administrator for the Authority in the implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide systems infrastructure components, including exchange messaging (0365), Storage Area Network, VM Ware, Linux/Unix, Enterprise Backup System, Information Security, Systems Center Configuration Management (SCCM), and Windows patch installations.

    Develops, recommends, implements, and maintains systems monitoring tools and the Active Directory.

    Responsible for the technical design, integration, and support of systems initiatives involving various hardware and software technologies within the Department of Technology.

    Serves as the subject matter expert on design and integration functions as they relate to the enterprise systems infrastructure. Provides production support for the enterprise systems environments.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Serves as the leader, technical expert and systems administrator for the Authority in the implementation and maintenance of systems components in an integrated environment, providing guidance and direction to others, and resolving the most complex technical problems.
    • Participates in the design, development and implementation of highly complex and highly available Systems and applications in accordance with the Authority's goals and objectives.
    • Works with contractors, vendors, and other internal departments on projects that have a network infrastructure component.
    • Implements and maintains system products and configurations and makes recommendations to ensure that the infrastructure has a solid best practices-based architecture in place.
    • Recommends enhancements to existing systems and infrastructure.
    • Provides 2/3 tier production support; provides after hours production support on a rotational basis.
    • Configures, maintains and upgrades systems components.
    • Installs new systems as needed and leads in implementation of systems monitoring tools for proactive repair on both the application and hardware levels.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Microsoft Certified System Engineer preferred.
