    The position is located in our Corporate office, and provides significant exposure to a wide range of company functions (information technology, human resources, insurance and contracts, risk management, etc.) in support of our numerous regional southeastern offices, as well as direct access to many of the firm leaders.

    PPM is a firm specializing in providing soil and groundwater assessment and remediation and a full range of air, water, and waste compliance consulting; brownfield redevelopment, and other related environmental services.

    We are looking for an Accountant that can step in to help ensure all accounting functions are handled in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

    Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
    Reconcile bank statements
    Reconcile and submit business and payroll taxes/licenses
    Initiate payroll and AP EFTs
    Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries
    Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end internal financial statements
    Make day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions
    Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions to the accounting system and procedures
    Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
    May establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
    Organize and research financial information for other departments as necessary
    4-year accounting degree with minimum of 2 years' experience or 2-year accounting degree with 4 years' experience
    ~ Preferred experience with project-based software and/or ERP systems (such as Deltek)
    ~ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines
    ~ Proficiency with MS Office Suite
