    Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator - Operations Manager

    Job Summary:
    We are seeking an experienced and qualified Sheet Metal Fabricator - Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our sheet metal fabrication department. They will lead a team of skilled fabricators to ensure the efficient production of high-quality sheet metal products, while adhering to safety guidelines and achieving production targets.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Manage and oversee the sheet metal fabrication department, ensuring smooth operations and timely production schedules.
    2. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators and other staff members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
    3. Plan, organize, and prioritize work orders to meet customer requirements and production targets.
    4. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
    5. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sheet metal and related materials, ensuring availability for production without excess stock.
    6. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to ensure seamless workflow and effective communication.
    7. Oversee and enforce safety protocols and guidelines in the fabrication department, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
    8. Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any issues or malfunctions with machinery, tools, or equipment.
    9. Implement and improve standard operating procedures to streamline workflows and maximize productivity.
    10. Collaborate with the procurement team to source and evaluate suppliers for sheet metal materials, negotiating prices and terms to ensure cost efficiency.
    11. Monitor and control production costs, labor, and material expenses to achieve profitability targets.
    12. Ensure compliance with quality control standards and perform quality inspections on finished products to maintain high-quality standards.
    13. Track and analyze production data, including metrics such as productivity, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery, and implement continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
    14. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in sheet metal fabrication techniques and equipment, and recommend investments in new technology or process enhancements to improve efficiency and quality.

    Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or professional qualifications in sheet metal fabrication will be an advantage.
    2. Proven experience working in sheet metal fabrication, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
    3. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, processes, and equipment.
    4. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
    6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration between departments and with customers.
    8. Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software tools.
    9. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in sheet metal fabrication.
    10. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
    11. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving production targets and profitability.
