Description
Summary:
This individual will be responsible for development, oversight, management, and accountability of the Marketing and Communications Department including full-time, seasonal staff, and interns.
This role will work to support the initiatives of the Birmingham Barons through brand development, awareness to drive tickets sales, and fan engagement during Barons games.
Additionally, this individual will be responsible for synergy across marketing platforms including, but not limited to print, broadcast, digital media, radio, our game program, and in-game entertainment.
Essential Duties:
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
Develop and implement a 12-month marketing plan to ensure the determined goals of the organization are met
Develop strategy to increase revenue in areas such as online and single game ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, and non-baseball events
Daily oversight and updates of content on team website including FanCompass platform
Daily oversight and updates of content on team social media accounts
Develop strategies to grow and segment data bases for use in email and text marketing
Maintain consistent records and reports for audience size and demographics of team's digital platforms
Oversee plan, budget, and execution of paid external marketing including, but not limited to TV, radio, print, digital media, billboards, OTT, paid social, etc.
Develop strategy and oversee execution of online auction platform and in-game auction opportunities
Maintain and update promotional calendar for internal communication and staff planning
Schedule, manage, and promote team podcast platform
Hire and manage intern(s) for Marketing department
Work towards continuous quality improvement
Stay current with changing technology, including software programs
Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, and ability required.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year college or university required
Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience in sports, entertainment, advertising, media, marketing or related field in the sports industry required
Ability to attend most, if not all, home games
