The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care under the supervision of a registered nurse advanced practice provider or physician Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertiseknowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan Ensures health comfort safety of residents Contributes to assessment of residents administers medications or treatments as ordered Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed Documents resident interactions outcomes related to resident care medication behavior activity dietary Counsels residents family members or resident advocate under direction of registered nurse advanced practice provider or physician on prevention treatment plans Performs other related duties as assignedJob description
