In this role, you will drive continuous improvement in our Benefits and Compensation processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and provide a seamless employee experience aligned with the People Operations strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compensation and benefits administration, payroll processing, and contributing to enhancements in business processes as well as providing Leadership to our Payroll & Benefits Administrator and HR Compliance/HRIS Specialist.

    We seek an experienced professional to lead Compensation and Benefits in the US. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compensation and benefits administration, payroll processing, and contributing to enhancements in business processes and HR information technology (HRIS). Your role includes driving continuous improvement in payroll and benefits processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and provide a seamless employee experience aligned with the People Operations strategy.

    In this position, you will foster strong relationships across the organization and with vendors to embody and promote the company culture. You will provide guidance and supervision for the Payroll & Benefits Administrator and HR Compliance/HRIS Specialist. Effective communication with diverse personalities and adept conflict management skills are essential for success in this role.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Compensation
    • Work closely with the Rewards and Planning team to administer and optimize company compensation programs. This involves gathering market data, facilitating salary reviews, and offering strategic counsel to leaders regarding compensation strategies, including salary frameworks and incentive schemes.
    • Fulfill additional responsibilities and projects as directed by the Rewards and Planning Director or Senior People Operations Manager in the North American region.
    Benefits
    • Oversee employee benefits programs, and ensure their competitiveness and alignment with our workforce's unique needs. This includes managing renewals, open enrollment, and regulatory compliance.
    • Handle relationships with brokers and third-party administrators for benefit plans.
    • Maintain benefits and compensation summaries for new hires and recruitment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Administer union health and pension benefits according to contractual agreements while staying updated on evolving payroll and benefits laws and regulations for ongoing compliance.
    • Collaborating closely with People Operations to develop and implement personnel policies that adhere to multi-state labor laws and reflect our company culture, mission, and values.
    • Actively engage with the HR leadership team to provide support, identify opportunities or risks, and advocate for the best interests of employees and the company as a whole.
    Payroll
    • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 800+ employees across multiple states and various pay requirements. We have three manufacturing facilities and employees across ten states.
    • Supervise leave of absence procedures, guide People Operations HR Managers on disability options, and ensure accurate administration of FMLA, ADA, and other types of leave across all levels and facilities.
    • Remain informed on evolving payroll laws and ensure company payroll adheres to regulations.
    Reporting
    • Manage the reporting and analytics of payroll, compensation, and benefits data, ensuring the development and communication of key performance indicators (KPIs) to relevant stakeholders.
    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from a four-year college or university.
    • 3-5 years of payroll and benefits management experience, demonstrating expertise in multi-state laws.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Benefits, Compensation, HR, and payroll operations administration.
    • HRIS proficiency, particularly with Workday, including payroll, benefits, and reporting.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Experience with process improvement and automation preferred.
    • Ability to multitask and work autonomously.
    • Proficient in project management.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for productive collaboration across teams in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong writing skills for creative and precise proofreading and editing.
    • Upholds confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
    This position will report to both the Global Rewards and Planning Director and the Senior People Operations Manager in North America.
