    Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

    Join our dedicated team for a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in McLean, Virginia. This position entails providing instruction and support to students in MIPA and Life Skills classes. We are seeking a devoted and skilled teacher with experience in working with complex needs, nonverbal communication, and significant behavioral challenges. Three days of preparation are required on June 28, July 1, and July 2 to ensure smooth and successful program implementation.

    Location: McLean, Virginia
    Duration: July 8, August 2, 2024
    Hours: 9:15 AM - 1:15 PM, Monday to Friday
    Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on academic, social, and behavioral goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators, to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and make data-driven instructional decisions. Qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education from the state of Virginia.
  • Prior experience working with students with complex needs, nonverbal communication, and significant behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education, including differentiated instruction, behavior management techniques, and inclusive practices.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.
