    The Nursing Lab Assistant supports the Nursing Lab Manager with all laboratory functions in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner.

    This position is responsible for the ongoing preparation and maintenance of labs, simulators, and equipment to support the learning needs of students at LCON.

    Completes all Skills Laboratory preparation and set-up according to course requirements and student needs.

    Completes all Simulation Laboratory preparation and set-up according to individual scenario components.

    Ensures each Simulation Control Room is stocked and organized for each use.

    Completes all preparation and set-up for Health Assessment Labs.

    Ensures each lab is stocked with necessary supplies including the Supply Carts, Crash Carts, Isolation Carts, and Linen Carts.

    Ensures the proper function of all equipment and supplies and reports any needs to the Nursing Lab Coordinator.


    May be asked to assist with technical support for headwalls, patient monitors, simulator laptops, medication dispensing systems, vital sign monitors, etc.

    Deconstructs, cleans, and restocks each lab after use.

    Maintains an inventory of all medical supplies used.

    Assists the Nursing Lab Manager in preparing supply orders each semester and as needed.

    Repackages supplies for use in each lab.

    Launders lab linens.

    Cleans and sanitizes labs during the semester and conducts a full post-semester cleanup in each lab.

    Performs minimal maintenance on simulators as required.

    Assists Department Equipment Representative with equipment inventory.

    Prepares Standardized Patient Actors for scenarios by applying moulage and armbands, etc.

    Participates in department meetings as needed.

    Minimum Position Qualifications


    This position requires the ability to follow directions well, work independently, attention to detail and accuracy, and possess strong interpersonal skills.

    Will require lifting heavy equipment or simulators on occasion. This position requires excellent organizational skills and time management as it involves multiple labs. Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
