- Target Ratios: 1:6 (unit strives to keep this ratio but also wants to understand that there can be times when the ratio is 1:7 due to callouts and/or general staffing needs). Fast-paced unit.
- Float Requirement: FLOATING REQUIRED as needed to other med/surg units/floors.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year.
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Pt population: 2nd GI cares for a robust mixture of patients with GI conditions, patients with blood loss and anemia associated with the GI tract, patients with infections, some renal patients, surgical patients who have had GI surgery, and we have 10 Tele beds for monitoring cardiac rhythms.
- SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Fast-paced unit. On average they turn over a third of their beds every day.
- UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS/EPIC/SBAR.
- Traveler Experience: Unit will NOT Accept 1st time Travelers. **Need to have a 1 YEAR of traveler Experience, as this is a complex floor.
- Skills: IV start
- Certs: BCLS
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for, this specialty
- Telemetry preferred.
