    Will consider Staff Services Analyst

    Under the direction of a Staff Services Manger I, the incumbent performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical administrative tasks and personnel analysis.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.     Working Conditions

    Position located at 2015 E. Shields Ave Suite 100 Fresno, CA 93726, Fresno County

    This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans' current telework policy. While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate may be required to conduct business travel on behalf of the Department or commute to the headquarted location. Business travel reimbursements considers an employee's designated Headquarters location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations and applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquarted location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

    Special Requirements

  • Possessionof a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leasedvehicle.
  • A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted along with your State application. The SOQ is a discussion of how an applicant's education and experience meet the evaluation criteria below and qualify them for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. You must include specific examples addressing each of the evaluation criteria listed below. The SOQ must not exceed two (2) pages in length and written in no less than 12-point font. Each evaluation criteria must be addressed separately and in order.

    Evaluation Criteria:

    • Experience in planning, organizing and completing special assignments with emphasis on accuracy, quality and details.
    • Experience with written, verbal, and personal communication with internal and external partners. Demonstrates effective and accurate reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of allocation, forecasting, analyzing and auditing data.

    • Knowledge of computer programs such as such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
    • Knowledge and ability in balancing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines. Ability to maintain files.
