    Description
    Goal:

    The Commercial Project Cost Accountant will aid the South Shore Gunite team in tracking billables and receivables for commercial construction projects. Ensuring accuracy and production of our products, a high level of detail and time management should be self- maintained and always regulated.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Project Cost Submissions:
    • Track and submit percentage (%) of work completed for active projects. Coordinate with Construction Supervisors.
    • Track billables and confirm receipt of payment (internal requests to Accounting Dept).
    • Ability to understand changes of scope of work.
      • Assist in defining materials, labor, rentals, equipment, (etc...) to be used.
      • Prepare Change Order for departmental review.
    • Submit, Track, Execute, and Distribute accounting documents to appropriate parties.

    Project Communication:
    • Maintain understanding of construction schedule to accurately associate project billings.
    • Maintain understanding of equipment procurement to accurately associate project billings.
    • Provide assistance with Quote obtainment, assessment, and presentation for final review.
    • Follow up on all submissions and future receivables.

    Purchasing Preparations:
    • Assist in obtaining quotes from Vendors and Subcontractors (Release items for purchase by PM).
    • Assist with quote review.
      • Itemized pricing.
      • Scope of work pricing compared to original estimate.

    Estimating & Job Costing Assistance:
    • Update estimating templates with recent pricing from quotes.
    • Update Job Costing templates.
    • Record Active Job costing materials and labor
    • Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly P&L reports

    Qualifications / Skills:
    • Ability to coordinate multiple on-going projects.
    • Ability to prioritize workflow as construction schedules may vary throughout the duration of the project.
    • Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented.
    • Highly personable and works well as a member of the SSG team.
    • Excellent communication skills with employer, co-workers, clients, and other trades.
    • Proficient to Excellent computer skills.

    Software Requirements:
    • AIA/Oracle/Textura/GC Pay.
    • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word.
    • Adobe Acrobat.

    Additional Info:
    • Full time position, target 45 hours a week expected Monday - Friday.
    • Hourly pay (Salary may be considered).
