- Documents patient procedures accurately, enters charges promptly, uses resources efficiently, and manages time effectively.
- Engages in departmental projects, seeks learning opportunities, and focuses on continual development in the field.
- Graduate of an approved education program related to the required credentials.
- Completion of a clinical rotation in cardiovascular echo sonography or six months of cardiac sonographer experience with on-the-job training.

Description
At Houston Methodist:
The Echo Sonographer I position consists of performing routine echocardiograms such as Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) with Color, Spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Plain Stress Echocardiogram, TTE with bubbles, TTE with contrast, and advanced TTE with 3D imaging for both inpatient and outpatient studies. The role involves locating, evaluating, and recording relevant anatomical, pathological, and functional data using various ultrasound equipment systems. Responsibilities include transmitting exams to compatible DICOM storage applications, processing preliminary technical data, and communicating significant findings to the attending physician.
