    Software Engineering Manager

    Our manufacturing client in the Greater Syracuse/Auburn NY area is searching for a strong Software Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate is someone that has led teams of 3-5 direct reports and has experience integrating SOP's. This is an in-office role and can relocate the right candidate.


    Responsibilities:

    Lead a team whom:
    develops coding for new products, maintains and modifies code for existing products, using embedded C programming.
    Development and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
    Acts as the architect of the team to design & build software systems.
    Collaborates with Hardware Design Engineers on hardware / software system integration.
    Accountable for execution & delivery of software products assigned to their team.
    Facilitates and ensures individual and team roles and responsibilities are understood.
    Develops and tracks project deliverables & timelines.
    Works with project team members to identify and mitigate development risks.
    Ability to perform hands-on coding & troubleshooting.
    Manage outsourcing project development & maintenance with embedded, app & web hosting.
    Seeks and implements methodologies to improve velocity of team.
    Set performance goals for direct reports.
    Report project status' to Engineering director.


    Hiring Requisites:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
    5+ years of professional experience in development of embedded firmware in C language.
    2+ years of professional experience in embedded software management.
    Working knowledge of and capability to read electrical schematics.
