    Job Title: Clinical Team Member

    The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) seeks a skilled and dedicated individual to join our clinical team as a Clinical Team Member. In this role, you will play a vital supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service by performing responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and satisfaction.
    • Participate in planning and preparing for patient visits to ensure appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic-specific requirements are available.
    • Room patients according to clinic needs, determine and document chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history, and other required information.
    • Perform various procedures such as hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing, and others as required and competency validated.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of rooms and clinic supplies.
    • Assist with routine and specialty procedures.
    • Schedule patients for follow-up appointments or referrals and perform routine clerical duties.
    • Provide excellent communication skills through telephone messaging and in-person screening with appropriate follow-up.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their privacy per HIPAA guidelines.
    Certifications/Skills:
    • Familiarity with standard clinic equipment
    • BLS certification
    Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred
    Experience:
    • At least six months of experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
    Security Sensitive:
    • This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
