- Support Health, Safety and Environmental efforts to provide a safe work area for all and be compliant with various governmental safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in improving overall equipment efficiency by undertaking projects such as reducing changeover times (SMED), eliminating non-value added tasks and decreasing cycle times.
- Conduct time studies to optimize process flow and create pull systems wherever possible.
- Help solve problems using methodical and statistically based logic. Analyze data with tools such as MINITAB software.
- Identify bottleneck in manufacturing process, develop scope of project to improve the bottleneck followed by selecting the most economical and functional quote from various vendors and execute the necessary improvements.
- Create RFEs required for projects in IBM Lotus Notes, use SAP and Ariba to generate POs, keep track of project expenditures and also to gather data for process improvement, safety.
- Assist in developing maintenance standards and shaping the preventive maintenance program.
- Improve production process to make it easier, safe and efficient by developing work standards and training operators as needed.
- Use quality and efficiency data to help justify any required capital investments.
- Assist in HSE Flint Ramboll Safety Projects
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Hands on manufacturing site experience in an engineering capacity (such as a co-op program, direct experience, etc.)
- Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Familiarity with Kaizen events
- Strong emphasis on the ability to identify and prioritize projects, facilitate team meetings, track and communicate savings, and identify and resolve roadblocks
- Excellent communications skills (oral and written), strong professional judgment and sound decision-making skills
- SAP skills strongly preferred
- Must have good presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to succeed in a changing and fast-paced matrix-organized environment

The Flint Asheville site is the home of several different businesses that support the printing industry. The Process Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and production support for the site while working closely with other engineers, maintenance technicians, operators and contractors. The Process Engineer will lead continuous improvement efforts for safety, throughput and quality by leading and participating on teams. This position is based in Flint Asheville, NC facility and requires approximately 5% travel.
