    Responsibilities
    The Senior Controller position functions as part of the accounting management team and will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for multiple investment funds, multiple Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs), and related
    corporations.

    In addition to the position key responsibilities, you will have input and influence on the Company's important financial decisions and can provide valuable input into our company's continued success.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting department to ensure accurate and
    timely financial reporting.

    • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads and senior
    management to develop realistic financial plans and targets.

    • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, cash flow projections, and
    profitability analysis, to identify areas of improvement and make strategic recommendations.

    • Manage the company's banking relationships, including cash management, credit facilities to
    optimize liquidity and funding strategies.

    • Prepares and files annual Minnesota Sales & Use Tax Return and annual Grantor Trust Tax
    Statements for multiple DSTs.

    • Provides analysis, research and support to the sales, property acquisition, property disposition and
    lease management departments.

    • Prepares and maintains financial reports and information to support senior management and other
    AEI departments.

    • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial
    reporting.

    • Oversee the preparation of various financial and tax reporting in compliance with accounting
    standards, regulatory requirements and tax regulations.

    • Oversee quarterly, interim, and annual on-site reviews with the external auditors.
    • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices,
    assessing their impact on the business and implementing necessary adjustments.

    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (CPA) is highly preferred.

    Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in commercial real estate finance and accounting.

    Public accounting experience and tax experience preferred.
