    At Doctors Community Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Emergency Department team. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the nursing process in a team relationship with Registered Nurses.

    Job Summary:

    We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented LPN who can provide direct care to patients and families in a culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and demonstrate proficiency in medication administration and pain management.

    Essential Duties:

    • Provides direct care to patients and families in a culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate manner.
    • Consistently assesses patients to collect data and identify learning needs according to established standards and policies.
    • Collaborates with the healthcare team in developing and individualizing a plan of care for each patient in accordance with established standards.
    • Efficiently implements the patient's plan of care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in medication administration, pain management, and other unit-specific skills.

    Requirements:

    • Current licensure as a practical nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
    • American Heart Association Healthcare Providers BLS.
    • Successful completion of the LPN IV Medication Course and the NLM Medication Exam.

    Working Conditions:

    The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Physical demands include medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
