Refund Specialist

Business Office

We are seeking a detail-oriented Refund Specialist to join our Business Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching accounts with credit balances, identifying the individual or party due the refund, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

• Generate monthly credit balance reports from our practice management system.
• Research credit balance accounts to determine if credit is refundable.
• Verify insurance coverage and establish order of priority.
• Recommend account adjustments as needed and prepare necessary paperwork for approval.
• Prepare and submit refund paperwork to Finance.

Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 per year (dependent on experience and education)

Requirements

Education:

Preferred: Some college preferred with emphasis in accounting.

Minimum: High school diploma

Experience:

Preferred: Two years of medical billing office experience required with emphasis on account research.
