Western Kentucky University seeks an individual to serve as the Clinical Director of the Talley Family Counseling Center. This is a regular part-time 12-month position, involving being on campus at least 20 hours a week.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a collaborative relationship with the Department of Counseling and Student Affairs (i.e., leading the TFCC according to the Department's mission, CACREP standards, and current objectives; maintain and submit monthly reports to the department chair that include client statistics and demographics for those seen through the center); as well as with primary donor of the Center.
Serve as clinical and administrative supervisor of TFCC counseling practicum and internship students as follows:Engage in the interviewing and selection process of new practicum students, as well as provide an annual orientationFacilitate weekly individual/triadic supervisionOffer live supervisionLead weekly group supervision and staff trainingRegularly review case notes, treatment plans, and DSM diagnoses.
Manage and monitor students' interactions with clients, particularly those in crisisOversee the intake process to ensure that clients are appropriate for the centerIdentify additional training opportunities for interns on a wide range of topicsDocument management and adherence to CACREP, HIPAA, and to the Center's Electronic Health Records SystemCreate and maintain the reputation of the TFCC as a sought-after counseling provider within the Bowling Green community by:Providing center hours that are conducive to client availability (e.g., at least 20 hours/week in fall/spring and at least 10 hours/week in summer)Networking and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders on the WKU campus and regional communityEngaging in community and campus outreachDeveloping client recruitment strategies in order to expand and maintain a diverse client baseWill oversee, manage, coordinate the offering of biofeedback (heart rate variability) as a quality assured intervention offered by the TFCC as follows:
Will seek training at the onset of hire; and will seek and maintain consultation with expert providersWill assure that all practices are ethically and technically soundWill assure ongoing care of the equipment and will seek (technological) updates when neededWill provide the training of all interns at the onset of their placement at the TFCC Requirements: Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program;Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky;At least 5 years of clinical experience since graduating with counseling master' degree and documented training and experience as a counseling supervisor.
Experience and formal training beyond the graduate degree (i.e., Gottman Couples Therapy Method, trauma-informed);Expertise working with clients individually, in groups, as couples, and families; demonstration of program building skills(i.e., marketing; networking and outreach; enhancing types of resources offered; maintaining information and productive relationships with philanthropic partners);Understanding of the mission of the TFCC and CACREP-accreditation.
