    Description

    A New York City-based health services network is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their facilities in Queens as their new Clinical Nurse Educator for their Nursing Residency Program. In this role, the Clinical Nurse Educator will lead the planning, development, and implementation of educational programs within the Residency Education program, specifically catering to new nurses or those lacking acute care experience.

    Responsibilities:

    The Clinical Nurse Educator - Nursing Residency Program (RN) will:

    • Design and develop tailored educational programs for new nurses and those transitioning to acute care
    • Lead comprehensive orientation for new nurses, covering clinical protocols, patient care practices, and organizational policies
    • Develop and conduct staff development sessions focusing on critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and patient safety
    • Coordinate continuing education activities to support ongoing professional development and regulatory compliance
    • Utilize advanced adult learning principles to create engaging educational experiences
    • Implement innovative instructional methodologies and technologies to enhance learning outcomes
    • Evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement through robust evaluation techniques
    • Provide mentorship and support to participants, facilitating their transition to acute care settings
    • Perform other duties, as needed

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting, including Teaching and Education experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS certifications
    • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills

    Desired Skills:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing and/or a related Education field
    • Previous experience in nursing education, staff development, or preceptorship with a nursing residency program
    • Nursing Specialty Certification in Nursing Professional Development or Specialty Certification from ANCC
