Oak Ridge Industries provides machining, fabrication and welding solutions to Mid Atlantic industries. We are currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our growing team in Eastern North Carolina. • Uses AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor to create product drawings, incorporating required standards.
• Ability to review and interpret industry standards and apply as required.
• Creates and/or revises existing drawings based on customer requirements.
• Analyzes customer specifications to ensure drawings, routings and BOMs are complete and accurate.
• Generates standard and/or indented bill of materials (BOMs) that is used to construct each product.
• Creates Routings as required.
• Designs parts, assemblies, and components for new and existing products.
• Prepares shop travelers for each product.
• Creates detailed weldment and assembly drawings as required.
• Specifies and selects materials and components based on customer and/or industry requirements.
• Order materials for each job as required.
• Compiles Job Packages.
• Assists in training new Designers.
• Works with Customers to ensure all requirements are addressed and met.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or GED is required. 2 or 4 year degree is preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Previous design experience in Autocad, Solidworks or Inventor is required.
