    About UPMC Passavant

    ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is hiring a Part-Time Patient and Family Concierge, Senior to support our Medical Stepdown Unit at the McCandless location. The title and salary will be determined based on education and experience.

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have prior patient care experience and be able to work 20 hours per week covering daylight, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. Hours may vary by unit.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Greet hospital guests positively and provide verbal assistance as needed.
    • Use personal computers and CRTs for disseminating patient information while respecting patient confidentiality.
    • Clean assigned areas, remove trash, and replenish supplies as needed.
    • Make beds and inspect areas for proper cleaning and maintenance.
    • Transport patients and equipment safely and accurately.
    • Record transportation data electronically and report abnormalities to management.
    • Order unit supplies, manage inventory, and maintain expiration dates.
    • Perform administrative tasks, answer phones, and distribute mail.
    • Coordinate patient tests, procedures, and transports.
    • Update bedboards and communicate changes to staff as needed.
    • Respond to call lights, round hourly, and print daily plans of care.
    • Prompt patient mobility and assess needs under Nursing Assistant/PCT direction.

    Requirements

    A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with 6 months of experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent. Demonstrated competency in all responsibilities of the role is essential.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

    • Act 34 clearance is required.
