    Unicoi State Park & Lodge is one of Georgia's premier state parks located within the north Georgia mountains in the quaint town of Helen.

    Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Front Desk Manager/Supervisor, this position accommodates guests of Unicoi State Park & Lodge by greeting and assisting arriving/exiting guests in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and with an emphasis on hospitality.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


    Essential Functions:

    • Valid (state) drivers/chauffeur license.
    • Excellent driving record.
    • 5 years experience driving vehicles.
    • Thorough knowledge of local area and roads.
    • Able to drive all company vehicles.
    • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
    • Provide legible communication and directions.
    • Compute basic arithmetic.
    • Ability to:
      • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
      • prioritize, organize and follow up.
      • be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
      • follow directions thoroughly.
      • understand guest's service needs.
      • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

      • maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
    • Assists guest with luggage/baggage; shows guests to their room
    • Develops a thorough knowledge of the Lodge property; hotel staff; hotel services with hours of operation; guestrooms including locations, views, amenities, features, types, etc.
    • Upsells the amenities of the Resort, i.e., restaurant, activities etc.
    • Acts as an information center for guests by recommending shopping areas, recreation facilities, theaters, restaurants and points of interest.
    • Gives accurate directions and information regarding the immediate and surrounding areas.
    • Keeps the entrance to the hotel, lobby, bell stand and bell closet clean.
    • Keeps luggage carts clean and neatly arranged in their designated areas at all times.
    • Protects guest and Lodge assets by following proper handling procedures.
    • Delivers guests amenities.
    • Handles guest problems with courtesy, concern and sincerity.
    • Reviews group cover sheets and event sheets daily to ensure that they are informed of all meetings/groups.
    • Answers the telephone promptly and courteously according to Resort Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
    • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
    • Maintain positive guest relations at all times..
    • Inspect vehicle for damage; document required repairs.
    • Inspect vehicle for operating condition and rectify any deficiencies (i.e., tire pressure, oil/fuel/water levels).
    • Inspect vehicle for cleanliness, inside and out; rectify any deficiencies.
    • Communicate vehicle maintenance needs to Engineering and follow up on completion.
    • Remain in assigned post position, maintaining correct stance.
    • Remain on scheduled route at all times.
    • Ensure the safety of all passengers and their belongings.
    • Drive the vehicle to transport guests/visitors to and from designated destinations.
    • Communicate any delays, problems and passenger needs with the hotel by radio, using proper codes.
    • Load/unload passengers' luggage into/out of the vehicle.
    • Maintain conversation with passengers according to their needs.
    • Follow designated procedures for vehicle breakdowns and accidents.
    • Document all trips accurately prior to the start of and at the conclusion of each.
    • Park vehicle in designated location when not in use.
