    Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    Work as a liaison between the contract engineering and production departments to create, document, develop, and implement procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture elevators, elevator systems, and related components. This position exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document the manufacturing process.
    • Develop and implement process techniques and procedures into manufacturing workflow.
    • Analyze manufacturing processes continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughout.
    • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative cost to provide data for operational decisions.
    • Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
    • Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
    • Provide engineering support in production departments to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
    • Coordinate between procurement, planning, and manufacturing to evaluate production loading, forecasts, and resource allocation.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    Education: Bachelors in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field

    Experience: Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering in an industrial setting

    Must understand engineering theory and practices

    Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

    Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events, Lean Six Sigma or experience with a continuous improvement program

    Effective verbal and written communication skills

    Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point

    Strong math and mechanical skills

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

    Job duties are performed mainly within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

    Job duties are performed occasionally within an indoor, established manufacturing environment under normal lighting. This environment is not climate-controlled, the noise level is usually moderate to loud, and proper PPE is to be used (safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator if applicable). Employees are regularly exposed to hazardous equipment and may share a workspace. Employees may be exposed to strong chemical odors on rare occasions in a well-ventilated area.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
