PHP Developer
NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing organization to identify a PHP Developer who will design, build, and maintain secure, efficient B2B data exchanges. This role focuses on developing EDI maps, automating workflows, and resolving transmission issues while collaborating with internal stakeholders and trading partners to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain EDI interfaces and mappings to support transactions with trading partners.
• Coordinate onboarding for new trading partners and their VANs.
• Diagnose and resolve data transmission issues to ensure accurate, timely processing.
• Partner with Finance, AR/AP, Purchasing, and Sales teams, as well as external partners, to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Develop workflow processes to automate and optimize data exchange.
• Monitor EDI systems and transmissions to proactively identify discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation for mappings, workflows, and system configurations.
• Support testing, validation, deployments, upgrades, and enhancements.

Required:

• Hands-on experience with programming/scripting (e.g., PHP, JavaScript, C#).
• Strong grasp of databases and data integration concepts.
• Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files.
• Knowledge of B2B protocols (FTP/SFTP, AS2, APIs).
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and collaborative skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred:

• Background in supply chain, logistics, or retail environments.
• Exposure to cloud-based EDI tools and modern integration platforms.
• Experience working with EDI VANs and their role in partner connectivity.
• Basic understanding of accounting systems and concepts.
