    Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Engineer Sr (Instrumentation/Electronics) at our Grand Prairie, Texas, location working in the Thermal and Mechanical Test Lab

    Candidate will:

    • Help select, install, connect, and collect data from a wide variety of sensors used in mechanical testing
    Some of these sensors include strain gages, thermocouples, load cells, pressure and displacement transducers


    • Be responsible for operating real time and high-speed video cameras
    • Post process data and video files for customers/test engineers will be required
    • Help manage inventory of sensors and data recorder systems
    • Troubleshoot sensor issues and determine suitability of data for customer testing requirements
    • Respond to off-shift laboratory tasks and be able to complete occasional short-term assignments at off-site locations.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Experience with sensor selection, application and installation in structural and thermal testing applications.
    • Have the ability to obtain a security clearance and must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance prior to start
    Must be a US Citizen.


    • Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronic components and wiring diagrams.
    • Knowledgeable in the use of instrumentation devices such as data recorders (Astro-Nova, Dewetron, etc), oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.

    Desired Skills:

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Understanding of AC and DC electronic circuits
    • Strong communication and computer skills.
    • Experience with NI Labview or equivalent
    • Able to work with minimum supervision.
    • Able to manage multiple projects at once
    • Degree in related field; preferably Electrical Engineering and 5 years hands on/professional experience; or 2 years of experience required with a related Master's degree; or 9 years with associates degree in related field.

    Security Clearance Statement:
    This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely:
    Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees
    Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
