    Job Description Salary:
    The

    Director of Quality / Manufacturing Engineering


    will be responsible for management of quality and manufacturing engineering team execution and performance in supports GPD's overall quality management initiatives through customer focus and meeting both internal and external quality requirements.


    Further, the role will have responsibility to drive continuous manufacturing improvement thru the manufacturing engineering staff with specific focus on yield improvement and on time delivery.

    As a leader within the organization, support of QMS is an essential element of this role.

    Quality objectives such as customer focus, direct involvement with product compliance, assurance of qualification status, and assist for operations as an SME as appropriate for quality engineering efforts such as process control, calibration, and implementation of CA/PA.

    This full-time, exempt role will report to the COO and will be located at our Salem, NH facility.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Quality Engineering as supports GPD QMS:
    First line of technical evaluation regarding RMA / customer issues / escapes.
    Product certification and assessment of compliance.

    Support the business quality objectives through leadership consistent with the quality management system, and support of metrics including Customer satisfaction, and On Time Delivery.

    Manage risk within the context of Operations through supporting adequate means of internal audit, reporting issues, and acting upon risk reduction actions as decided within the management team.

    May support/lead supplier quality audits as required by project/customer SCDs or qualification of new suppliers.

    Help maintain key subcontractor relationships and supplier relationships including but not limited to specialty services, custom components, and strategic partners.

    Frequently interacts with cross functional partners in Management, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Business Development.
    Implement a culture of continuous operational improvement including, but not limited to the context of program estimating and execution.
    Management Team member with emphasis on manufacturing improvement and quality engineering initiatives.
    Direct involvement with suppliers is expected in support of quality, new designs/new suppliers, and capacity initiatives.
    Be an active contributor to both strategic and tactical needs supporting growth initiatives, business development, and business operations teams.
    Interaction with customers is expected in support of programs, and product design and quality improvement initiatives.


    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and EXPERIENCE:


    A Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in an technical discipline, plus 10+ years related work experience in both Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Management.

    Expert in Quality Engineering, specifically within a Semi Environment preferred.

    Understands basic principles of microelectronic assembly, environmental and reliability testing, and related operations necessary to support optoelectronic product build and qualification.

    Experience in Defense Systems quality requirements.
    A strong leader that can effectively communicate to create a strong team environment, inspire excellence, and followership.

    Capable of being a promoter of cross functional collaboration and leadership, fostering a positive and cohesive team across the site.

    Has extensive know-how in Data Analysis using tools such as JMP, MiniTab, etc...
    Training and/or certification in LEAN/Six-Sigma preferred.

    MISC:
    Able to lift up to 20lbs
    Limited travel may be required

    This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GPD will require proof of status prior to employment.
