    About This Role


    The Biologics Drug Discovery group at Biogen is seeking a creative and self-motivated research fellow to contribute to our mission to design, optimize, and develop medicines to transform patients' lives.

    The Research Fellow role at Biogen is an 18-month position designed to provide a unique opportunity for scientists to gain exposure to drug discovery and development and train in an industry research setting.

    As a member of the Protein Chemistry group, you will work with a cross-functional team to design, optimize and produce antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates intended to improve delivery of therapeutic oligonucleotides (ASOs or siRNAs) to target tissues.

    What You'll Do

    Optimize and implement protein purification schemes for engineered antibodies, including bispecific antibodies, using computer interfaced chromatography systems (e.g. AKTA or similar)Characterize proteins using standard methods such as SDS-PAGE, analytical size-exclusion chromatography, and dynamic light scatteringDevelop and optimize novel antibody-oligonucleotide conjugation methodsGenerate, purify, and analyze antibody-drug conjugates for use in animal models.
    As a member of a project team, contribute to strategy and experimental design, and regularly present your work at team meetings

    Who You Are

    The ideal candidate is a recent Ph.
    D. graduate with a passion for science and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with team members to make data-driven decisions. The candidate should be eager to acquire new skills and techniques.

    Required Skills

    Ph.
    D. in biochemistry or related field with 0-1 years of postdoctoral experienceProficient in protein purification and characterization techniquesProtein conjugation experienceAbility to independently design, plan, execute, and interpret experimentsStrong written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    Experience working with oligonucleotides or conjugating oligos to proteins.
