    Position Summary

    The primary responsibility of the Live Goods Purchasing Manager is to oversee the activities of a team of materials planners and analysts in the global sourcing of live good raw materials. The Live Goods Purchasing Manager is responsible for achieving the highest levels of order fulfillment, order efficiency and cost management in support of the organization's goals and policies.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position supervises and manages the team of 7-10 Materials Planners and Analysts.

    Job Description


    • Supervises the creation of purchase orders and ensures fulfillment.


    • Administers live goods raw material pricing and vendor data within the ERP system.


    • Coordinates purchasing timelines and forecasts to meet present and future company requirements.


    • Supervises the claims processes and collaborates with internal teams to enhance the functionality and utilization of the Claims App tool.


    • Train, develop, and lead a team of high performing individuals to meet organizational goals and objectives.


    • Manages the Supplier Line Review and Scorecard procedure.


    • Collaborates closely with Production planning and Logistics departments to devise improved purchasing delivery strategies.


    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • High School Diploma / GED Equivalent


    • 5+ Years in a production or purchasing planning role.


    • Proven capability to lead and develop others in a team environment.


    • Experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment using ERP tools.


    • MS Excel Power User: v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.


    • Ability to flex hours/schedule during peak seasons as business needs arise.

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Knowledge in the Horticulture industry preferred.

    Job Setting & Physical Demands

    Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation and to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business needs is required. This position must also be able to interact with customers, internal and external, and adjust to a high volume, fast-paced environment. Remote work opportunities are available for some or most aspects of this role.
