- Adapt classroom work under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce lesson plans.
- Confer with teachers for the purpose of assisting in evaluation of students' progress and/or implementing students' objectives.
- Implement and execute plans, under teacher direction, for the purpose of meeting students' social and daily living skills. These plans can include and are not limited to diapering, assistance with feeding, toileting, changing clothing, etc.
- Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs in accordance with lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study.
- Monitor individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Perform record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or administrator in providing records/materials. Maintain logs of care when directed, (diapering logs, toileting times, feeding tolerance.)
- Support the teacher with data collection for the purpose of documenting activities and/or providing reliable information.
- Participate in all trainings designated by the School Nurse and/or Nurse Coordinator to ensure proper training has been provided to perform specific school health duties that are assigned to the paraprofessional.
- Perform toileting and diapering duties based on student assignment and needs for the student(s) and/or in the class you are assigned.
- Perform duties related to the mobility needs of the student, that may require lifting and/or positioning (e.g., wheelchair, walker, special seating, etc.).
- Demonstrate a steadfast dedication to fulfilling responsibilities while remaining adaptable to evolving tasks and priorities; your student(s) assignments or placement may change at any time during the school term based on the need of the student(s) and/or school.
- Assist with feeding and any other nutritional needs the student(s) may require.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the school or to meet student's individual needs.
- Treat all students with dignity while supporting them in the school setting.
- All other duties, as required by the student, school or IEP.
- Experience and success with students (preferred)
- High school diploma (preferred)
- The commitment and personal responsibility to do whatever it takes to help prepare our students for college and beyond
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to continuously sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear. Light lifting (up to 30 pounds) should be anticipated with the occasional assisted and supported heavy lifting (excess of 50 pounds)

This position is for a child at ReNEW Early Childhood Center and is year-round.
