Engineer :

Individuals within the Infrastructure Engineer DevOps role are responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks.

They install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the Institute's operating environment. They also maintain the ongoing reliability, performance, and support of the infrastructure.


Scope:
Maintains, monitors, and supports the infrastructure environment and/or facilitiesLeads enterprise-based work initiatives and projects. Develops enhanced production monitoring and additional capabilityDefines improvements in system reliability and performance.

Supports multiple systems or applications of medium to highly complex (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibilityActs as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers, and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportabilityIntegrates solutions with other applications and platforms based on engineering requirementsDevelops new alerts and monitoring techniques based on engineering requirements.

Develop scripted solutions and automationParticipates in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery plan for infrastructure solutionsRequirements:2-4 years of experience in IT Infrastructure specifically in Linux AdministrationNetworking

• Experience in operating large Hadoop systems and related applicationsNetworking skills with VLAN tagging, port based VLAN, Firewalls, software defined networkingExperience with different cable technologies: Fiber, Ethernet, etc.

Know how in virtualization, container based environments, storage technologies, data tiering conceptsNote:
