    Description

    Job Overview

    Responsible and accountable for the proper supervision, administration, execution, and oversight of the facility operations functions and personnel. Provides leadership and technical and professional direction and guidance to an in-house workforce through supervisors responsible for O&M functions in the areas of service call operations; work request management; work order allocation; facility maintenance and repair; and infrastructure maintenance and repair; Oversees and enforces performance executed through subcontracted services. Guides supervisors in work prioritization, implementing cost effective measures to work execution and in making decisions regarding work quality.

    THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD. CHUGACH WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM INCUMBENTS CURRENTLY HOLDING THE SAME POSITION.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Initiates, implements and manages the site maintenance program based on best practices in the wine industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Plans and organizes the facilities, maintenance staff and outside contractor and vendor services required for the repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, systems, infrastructure and grounds.
  • Participates in short, medium & long term objective setting, development and performance review of site equipment, infrastructure, buildings and grounds.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and work order requests and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance related problems.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Develops and maintains a maintenance management system for planning, scheduling and tracking work orders, spare parts and maintenance history of equipment.
  • Directs and manages the maintenance staff in all aspects of maintaining the winery properties.
  • Provides project leadership and direction on work assignments, coordinating efforts, providing technical guidance, training, coaching, and reviewing assignment progress.
  • Supervises the work of subcontractors on general building or plant maintenance in accordance with winery protocol and vendors.
  • Ensures all maintenance technicians are adequately trained in the most up to date SOPs, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Establishes and enforces standards for quality of workmanship.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the maintenance and facilities group. Sets goals and development plans for each direct report.
  • Hires maintenance and facilities personnel to meet budgeted staffing requirements.
  • Ensures safe work practices and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Job Requirements

    Mandatory:

  • Possess at least three (3) years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in the management and supervision of complex commercial and institutional facilities involving facility operations and maintenance of the approximate size and characteristics of the FLETC Complex.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in planning for and establishing the management and structural organization needed to operate and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • At a minimum, must have specific experience in financial reporting, plant operations, preventative maintenance programs, work scheduling, quality control systems.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communications in English.
  • Basic computer skills to include the ability to input data into the system and generate various reports and correspondence as required.
