    Position SummarySupervise, coordinate, and facilitate the Specialty operations of the clinical site(s) and educate Specialty offices in best practices for clinical staff.

    Through demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills and competence, the Nursing Manager facilitates learning for clinical personnel at MemorialCare Medical Foundation.

    This role also creates and implements clinical education based on needs assessments and operational initiatives and functions as an education advisor to the Nursing.

    Utilizing the (5) Simply Better Steps, the Nursing manager functions as a clinical and professional role model to staff and serves as a resource to leadership to ensure that all clinical best practices and regulations are current.

    This role will be an advocate for continuous learning and function as a change agent to improve patient care and support team collaboration.


    Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:
    Interview and hire the best-qualified candidates for department openings.
    Develop staff by offering training and educational opportunities both inside and outside of the department.
    Develop & coordinate staff programs for effective orientation, recruitment, training, and retention. i.e.

    Standard work for specialtiesIn partnership with Practice Manager, recognize staff performance, manage, and resolve all employee issues within the best interest of MemorialCare.

    Monitor facility for optimal patient flow and ensure an environment of safety and high-quality patient care. Influence & leverage technology to improve workflows and care coordination for service line across continuum.
    Support and implement a patient-centered model of care delivery.
    Assure effective coordination of clinical patient care services.
    Collaborate with all departments to coordinate patient care in conjunction with providers and supporting team.
    Engage the help of staff to continually investigate ways to improve work procedures/policies and processes. Implement and support Lean Management SystemsManage daily clinical department operations and employee performance.
    Support and enhance values that place patient satisfaction as one of the highest priorities.
    Pursue a program of self-development to remain current with information that may affect job, staff, and/or operations.
    Foster an environment that maximizes employee engagement and communication.
    Adhere to leader standard work.
    Actively participate in management huddles, lead, and support team huddles.
    In partnership with Practice Manager, promote organizational strategic goals and expectations.
    Participate in special projects as assigned.
    Maintain working knowledge, ability to perform any job task supervised, and assist as necessary.
    Meet ambulatory nursing clinical competencies for licensure.

    Provide clinical leadership and clear direction to all members of the care team to support the plan of care while maintaining the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of ambulatory nursing care.

    Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to ambulatory nursing practice.
    Participate in processes that improve Standard of Care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory nursing care.
    Demonstrates understanding of population specific care needs and educates nursing staff as indicated.

    Effectively implements educational development for all members of the care team based on needs assessment while maintaining the legal scope of practice for all roles.

    Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum development such as identifying program outcomes, developing competency statements, writing course objectives, and selecting appropriate learning activities and evaluation methods.

    Develop an educational plan for the clinical team members in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor team members.
    Works with the Best Practice Team to develop health education programs for identified health conditions and population health needs.

    Function as a consultant to the Policy and Procedure team for clinically based policy identification, updates, and education.*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.

    In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.

    Minimum RequirementsQualifications/Work Experience:
    Three (3) years minimum of RN clinical nursing experience or educational role preferred.
    Two (2) year minimum of clinically relevant supervisory experience preferred.
    One (1) year teaching experience preferred, including knowledge of adult learning principles and curriculum design.
    Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.


    Computer skills:
    Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio) required.
    Lean Management Systems experience preferred.
    Multi-specialty experience highly preferred, specifically: Oncology, OBGYN, and/or Cardiology. Must have RN experience in at least two (2) of the three (3) listed specialties to be considered.


    Education/Licensure/Certification:
    Bachelors degree in nursing required; masters degree in nursing preferred.
    Current RN license required.
    Current BLS for Healthcare Provider preferred.
